Egyptian Museum Trip

Class: Year 4C Mrs Clayton Year: 2014 - 2015

During our exciting visit to the World Museum Liverpool we took part in a hands-on workshop and were given the unique opportunity to touch real objects from the ancient world (3 to 5 thousand years old). Using tour powers of deduction, we then became junior museum archeologists in order to discover what the objects revealed about the people who lived in ancient Egypt.

We also met 'a mummy' and watched while the chief embalmer mummified an Egyptian prince to show the process of ancient Egyptian embalming - some of us even helped!

Later we became geologists and explored the world of rocks, minerals and fossils.

Click here and see if you can escape from the mummy's tomb! http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/kids/games-quizzes/egypt-mummys/index.aspx
