What have R/Y1S been up to this November

Class: Reception Miss Plunkett Year: 2018 - 2019

Over the last couple of weeks we have been very busy.

For cookery this week, we have been making delicious chocolate apples for our bonfire night nibbles with Mrs Potter. We have also been making fairy cakes for a class celebration. We had lots of fun weighing and measuring the ingredients.

We have been learning about nocturnal animals and Mrs Glowacki and Mrs Gurdak helped us make nocturnal animal pictures. We have also been learning why we wear poppies this time of year and we made our own to wear.

Pudsey Bear came to visit and we raised lots of money for Children in Need.

For our number work, Reception have been learning all about the number four and five. Year 1 have been solving number problems involving adding and taking away.

We would like to thank all the families who sent in food cans for our class role-play shop. The children have been buying things in the shop up to the value of 5p. They have had lots of fun taking turns to be the shop keeper. We will send the cans to a local food bank when we are finished.

For literacy we have been reading, Anna's Amazing Multi-coloured Glasses. When Anna puts on the glasses, she sees lots of unusual things. We have our own amazing glasses in class and when we put them on we see lots of unusual and silly things too!
